The San Francisco 49ers have a boatload of draft picks in 2016.  Who are some of the possible late-round options for them?

When people talk about the San Francisco 49ers’ plan in the 2016 NFL Draft, they normally focus on the seventh overall pick, or at least the pick at the top of the second round. This makes sense, as those are the players who are most likely to have immediate and substantial impacts on the franchise. They’re also the easiest to project, as you don’t need to sift through dozens and dozens of picks to figure out who will be available.

However, nine of the 49ers’ 12 picks will be on the third day of the draft, and they’ll make up the bulk of the 2016 draft class. Just because a player doesn’t go in the top 100 selections doesn’t mean they aren’t valuable players. Aaron Lynch, Quinton Dial and Dontae Johnson were all recent picks in the fourth round or later, and Dashon Goldson, Parys Haralson and Issac Sopoaga are all still active players the 49ers found late in the draft. Go back a little further, and you’ll find names like Jesse Sapolu, Steve Wallace and Michael Carter among the ranks of the late-drafted; maybe you’re unlikely to find the next Hall of Famer down there, but there are plenty of talented players who end up making a major impact.

Here are five players who might be available later in the draft, all of whom could end up making an impact on the 49ers for years to come.
