And Further…

The 49ers have possibly three picks at the back end of the sixth round—Denver’s sixth round pick, received in the Vernon Davis trade, and two more potential compensatory selections for the losses of Frank Gore and Dan Skuta.

These picks should be well outside of the top 200 names taken, and projecting this far down that far in advance is very difficult. Rather than give you a top 10, then, I’ll give you a couple names at positions the 49ers might still be needing to fill at this point.

Center: Mike Matthews, Texas A&M
Guard: Kyle Friend, Temple
Tackle: Nick Richter, Richmond
Defensive Tackle: D.J. Reader, Clemson
Cornerback: Kevon Seymour, USC
Kicker: Kai’imi Fairbairn, UCLA

We’ll have more in-depth analysis of these sorts of players as the draft board solidifies through the scouting and combine processes, as we approach draft day proper.
