G Ian Silberman

2015 Statistics

Rookie guard Ian Silberman saw just one game during 2015, and it was San Francisco’s Week 1 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

The 6’5″, 294-pound Silberman was regularly listed low on the depth chart behind fellow interior linemen Marcus Martin, Jordan Devey, Erik Pears and Andrew Tiller, which probably speaks to just how comfortable the 49ers’ coaching staff was in giving him playing time.

Silberman, a sixth-round pick, probably wasn’t expected to be more than just a depth option anyway. But when the 49ers suffered some attrition along the line — Martin and guard Alex Boone — late in the season, Silberman still never found his way onto the field.

We can’t say there was much of an expectation here, but Silberman didn’t appear to help out his own cause very much.
