Tight End Brian Leonhardt (ERFA)

2015 Cap Hit: $120,000

Tight end was a position of great depth entering the 2015 season, but the 49ers have since seen former tight ends Vernon Davis, Asante Cleveland and Derek Carrier traded away. And fellow TE Garrett Celek is now on IR.

Third-year tight end Brian Leonhardt spent his first two seasons with the Oakland Raiders before joining San Francisco this season. He has one catch for four yards on his stat sheet in 2015.

Leonhardt is buried on the depth chart behind tight ends Vance McDonald, Blake Bell and also doesn’t appear to be offsetting Celek should he be re-signed by the 49ers this offseason.

San Francisco does have exclusive rights though, so it’s feasible the 49ers retain him through training camp next season on the cheap.

Decision: Keep
