Niner Noise takes a detailed look at the legendary history of the San Francisco 49ers and comes up with a ranking of the 10 best quarterbacks in franchise history.

The San Francisco 49ers are one of the most decorated franchises in the history of the NFL. After being founded in 1946, and then joining the NFL in 1950, the 49ers have gone on to win a total of five Super Bowls, which is the second-most in NFL history. The 49ers history is recognized as having some of the best-ever players who went on to have Hall of Fame careers.

Niner Noise takes a look back at the 10 best San Francisco quarterbacks, their accomplishments and why each player fits into this ranking.

A player will have needed at least 20 quarterback starts with the 49ers to qualify to make this list.

Quarterbacks will be ranked by how they performed statistically, and in some cases when it is not clear, subjectively. Human nature will appear in some cases because, well, we all have quarterbacks we like more than others.

It also doesn’t matter what kind of career any of these quarterbacks may have had with another NFL franchise. For the purposes of this list, only their time with the 49ers is taken into consideration.

Please feel free to compile your list before starting through our rundown of names.  Who do you think will be on the list?
