The San Francisco 49ers, like most NFL teams, are about to begin one of the most exciting events in the calendar year: the beginning of training camp! New head coach Jim Tomsula and his 49ers will start training camp on August 1st at Levi’s Stadium, beginning what is sure to be one wild ride of a season. With so much uncertainty revolving around the 49ers this season, it will be exciting to see who will step up to the challenge at a number of positions that have been vacated by retirements, trades, or free agency departures. NinerNoise will take you through each of the position groups and explain just what the situation is for each of them, what the current depth chart appears to be, and how we think the depth chart will settle as we approach the beginning of games that actually matter on September 14th at home against the Minnesota Vikings.

Will Colin Kaepernick be able to step up to the challenge in 2015 and carry a team that desperately needs him to improve on his back? Will the 49ers linebackers be able to recover from the brutal loss of of a future Hall of Famer and a budding all-star? Who will replace Frank Gore now that he has gone to the Indianapolis Colts, and how will carries be divvied up amongst a deep group? We will explore all of this and more as we break down each of the positions for the 49ers. Get excited folks, football is almost here!
