No. 4: 49ers sign OL Jon Feliciano to 1-year deal

Perhaps it's worth noting that moves intended to reinforce the offensive line almost always fly under the radar, yet they're often some of the most important.

That's the case here, particularly after San Francisco watched its uber-backup, Daniel Brunskill, depart via NFL free agency for a more lucrative opportunity with the Tennessee Titans.

The 49ers' answer? Go after another versatile lineman in Jon Feliciano.

Granted, Feliciano is around only on a one-year deal. However, if the Niners view it as a tryout, they might have a Brunskill-like replacement who can support any of the five different positions on the O-line.

As far as Feliciano's impact, San Francisco's offensive line coach Chris Foerster outlined it recently:

"He competes, you won’t miss a beat if he ends up starting at guard or center for us for whatever reason. I think John is a good player and adds a lot to the room leadership-wise. Toughness, tenacity, work ethic. Yes sir, no sir guy and really good guy."

Considering the injury risk any O-line carries throughout the season, having a go-to like Feliciano could ultimately pay off in spades.
