Seattle Seahawks

DK Metcalf: The star receiver went off against the Cowboys’ defense last week, recording six receptions (eight targets) for 134 yards and three touchdowns. Dallas didn’t have any answers for Metcalf, who was held in check by the 49ers in Week 12 (three receptions for 32 yards). The Seahawks hope this is a sign of things to come for Metcalf, as every game down the stretch is a must-win.

San Francisco 49ers

Christian McCaffrey: McCaffrey continues to make a compelling case for Offensive Player of the Year and MVP. The superstar running back shredded the Eagles’ defense for 123 total yards and a rushing score on 20 touches. McCaffrey is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses as they have to worry about him breaking off long runs and catching the ball out of the backfield. In San Fran’s Week 12 over the Seahawks, the veteran running back recorded 114 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

Seahawks vs. 49ers Prediction and Pick

After getting blown out by the 49ers on Thanksgiving night, the Seahawks bounced back with a valiant effort last week against the Cowboys. Even though Seattle lost by six points, it was good to see the offense successful through the air and on the ground. 

However, the Seahawks’ defense gave up 41 points and struggled in pass protection, which isn’t what you want to see with the 49ers’ offense on deck. As previously mentioned, Seattle needs Metcalf to set the tone, which means Geno Smith must work the quick passing game. 

Long and developing passing plays will not work against this San Francisco defense, which has a talented defensive line of pass rushers. Speaking of San Fran, I expect them to lean on CMC against this Seahawks’ run defense, which has allowed 129 rushing yards per game over their last three games. 

If the 49ers control the line of scrimmage and give Brock Purdy time in the pocket, it could be a long day for the Seahawks defense, which allowed 30.4 points per game in their last five games. Take San Francisco and the points, as they are 2-1 ATS this season when double-digit favorites.
