5 players who could cost 49ers horribly in 2024 NFL playoffs
These five Niners could cost the team as it attempts to make a deep postseason run.
No. 4: Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw
The 49ers had to get creative with their defensive line while Arik Armstead was on the mend. One player who saw a lot of playing time was Javon Kinlaw. The Niners' run defense did not look the same while he was starting, though.
The bright side is that it seems more and more like Armstead will be ready to go for the playoffs, barring a setback in practice. However, if Armstead’s injuries flare up again and prevent him from being able to play consistently in the postseason, then we could see more of Kinlaw in addition to Kevin Givens and Sebastian Joseph-Day.
We all saw what the run defense was like without Armstead, so let’s hope that if he is not able to go in the playoffs that players like Kinlaw step up and prevent the run.
