Looking into 49ers' rookie extension candidates and what they might get

Offensive guard Aaron Banks
Prediction: 3 years, $15 million ($4 million guaranteed)
After what was effectively a redshirt rookie season, left guard Aaron Banks has been a stalwart on San Francisco's offensive line, and his play certainly has justified the use of a second-round pick on him despite some early concerns about his fit.
The 49ers could stand for plenty of O-line upgrades, and the 2024 NFL Draft is chock full of solid linemen. But they also need to maintain some continuity, especially on the left side of the line alongside All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams.
Banks, who'll turn 27 years old in 2024, is entering the prime of his career. And the good news is that guards don't command anywhere near the kind of money elite-level tackles, such as Williams, typically receive.
What'd likely get the job done is a three-year contract for $15 million, $4 million of which is guaranteed. Tack on some incentives, such as Pro Bowl nominations, and Banks could be locked up on a relatively affordable basis.
