The 49ers have some things they need to fix in a hurry, falling to their second defeat in a row as they threaten to be stuck in a very competitive race for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The San Francisco 49ers are currently reeling, falling to a 5-2 record after a disappointing 22-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings where the 49ers played very sloppily in all three areas of the game.

Whether it was fumbles on offense, no sacks whatsoever on the night for the defense or another missed field goal, the team left a lot to be desired and has a lot to work on if it wants to get the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Linebacker Fred Warner was his usual destructive self, causing havoc for the 49ers wherever he was.

But he didn't mince any words when he gave his take on the loss:

"We just couldn't get off the field. They scored on almost every drive they were out there, so we can't let that happen… We just didn't play good enough in all three phases."

Luckily for the Niners, not all is lost. The current No. 1 seed in the Philadelphia Eagles is entering a tough part of the schedule, while the Detroit Lions also lost this week, so San Francisco is very much in the hunt.

That being said, the 49ers have a lot to fix when it comes to sloppy mistakes.

They play the 3-3 Cincinnati Bengals this week in a game both teams will be desperate to win. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has had a bye week to rest his calf which has been hampering him all season, and he has something to prove.

Of course, the Niuners also have something to prove, but they need to win not only to stay in touch with the NFC elite but to also keep control of the NFC West.

While the 49ers have been in it to the end in both of their losses, tight margins don't mean anything for the win-loss record. Warner knows the team has to do better next week, and you can be sure the whole team knows it, too.
