Christian McCaffrey has been nothing short of spectacular for the 49ers and notched his place in franchise history for most consecutive games with a touchdown.

Since coming over via trade with the Carolina Panthers, star running back Christian McCaffrey has been a cornerstone of a dangerous San Francisco 49ers offense and the crown jewel when it comes to getting into the end zone.

This came to a head on the very first drive on offense for the Niners against the Arizona Cardinals, where the reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Month crashed through for a touchdown to give San Francisco the early 7-0 lead.

Even more impressively, it's taken McCaffrey less than a year to notch another franchise record, moving past legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice for the franchise record for most consecutive games with a touchdown, taking the accolade for his own with 13 straight games with a score.

McCaffrey added another touchdown early in the second quarter, too, to give the Niners a 14-0 lead.

There might have been some questions over the prevailing wisdom on spending precious draft picks for a running back when head coach Kyle Shanahan can produce productive running backs out of thin air, but there's no denying that the arrival of McCaffrey on the scene has made the offense increasingly more potent.

A proven safety valve and versatile weapon on the receiving end for Brock Purdy and a game-changer on the ground attack who can help the young quarterback take the pressure off himself, McCaffrey has proven the trade to get him has been more than a bargain.

Plus, with 13 straight games with a touchdown, how far can the running back take the streak?

We're excited to find out.
