The argument about Brock Purdy being a mere game manager in a quarterback-friendly offense took another hit, thanks to Pro Bowl voting.

The rosters for the 2024 Pro Bowl will be announced later on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and it's not surprising to see a high number of San Francisco 49ers making it to the top of voting queues.

One of those, of course, is quarterback Brock Purdy.

Purdy is wrapping up a historic 2023 campaign in which he not only set a franchise record for most passing yards in a single season but also was a frontrunner for the NFL MVP award for much of the year, too.

So, one would likely assume that he would be a top candidate to make the Pro Bowl, right?

Fans thought so.

Brock Purdy is No. 1 player in fan voting for 2024 Pro Bowl

According to a release from NFL Communications (h/t 49ers Webzone), Purdy was the No. 1 vote-getter in fan voting for the 2024 Pro Bowl, and fan voting ended on Dec. 25.

That's quite the slight against all those who felt Purdy was little more than a game manager who benefited solely from a star-studded offense within a quarterback-friendly offense under head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Unless Niners fans wholly outvoted all other NFL fans, it seems as if the rest of the league is recognizing Purdy's ascent.

On top of Purdy's notable tidbit, running back Christian McCaffrey finished second in fan voting, while tight end George Kittle finished fourth.

San Francisco also had the highest number of fan votes for any team, and according to the release form NFL Communications, those votes placed 49ers players at the top of 15 difference positions within NFC voting.

The 2024 Pro Bowl wraps up on Sunday, Feb. 2024.
