Betting expert claims Cowboys will be exposed vs. 49ers

BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan thinks the run-game will power the 49ers past the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

There are two undefeated teams in the NFC and it looks like three are separating themselves as the best in the conference. The 3-1 Dallas Cowboys are looking to prove that they belong with the 4-0 Eagles and the 4-0 San Francisco 49ers. BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan doesn’t think that they do.

MacMillan picks every game of the NFL schedule in his weekly “Road to 272” and this week he’s taking the 49ers to cover against the Cowboys. This will be San Francisco’s first big test of the season.

Betting expert for 49ers in Week 5

The Cowboys slipped up against the Cardinals in Week 3, but then dominated New England in Week 4, 38-3. Despite their massive margin of victory, BetSided NFL betting expert Iain MacMillan views Mike McCarthy’s team as fraudulent.

MacMillan wrote, “Yes, the Cowboys are winning games by an average of 20.8 points, but some underlying numbers show they aren't as good as their box scores have shown. Entering Week 5, they're 13th in EPA per play on offense when you exclude turnovers (49ers are second). They also rank just ninth in the league in net yards per play at +0.4 while the 49ers are second at +1.8.”

It’s not necessarily that the Cowboys are a bad team, but they just are not on the level of the 49ers who could be the best team in football. Dallas’s biggest weakness so far has been stopping the run and we know that Kyle Shanahan can take advantage of that.

“The Cowboys have also struggled to stop the run, allowing teams to gain 4.6 yards per rush against them. That's going to prove to be a problem against Christian McCaffrey.”

Take the 49ers on Sunday Night Football.
