Best NFL prop bets for 49ers vs. Browns in NFL Week 6

The 49ers will face the best defense they've seen all year, but that doesn't mean they'll stop dominating against the Browns in Cleveland this week.

Apparently the Cowboys weren’t a test for the San Francisco 49ers, so I’m not sure what team will be. It certainly isn’t going to be the Cleveland Browns with PJ Walker at quarterback instead of Deshaun Watson.

The Browns have a great defense, but so did Dallas and that didn’t stop Brock Purdy from putting up 42 points. We’re backing the 49ers with prop bets no matter what team is on the other side. Here are my three best prop bets for this Week 6 matchup.

Best NFL prop bets for 49ers vs. Browns

  • Brock Purdy over 203.5 passing yards
  • Brandon Aiyuk over 46.5 receiving yards
  • Christian McCaffrey over 3.5 receptions

Brock Purdy over 203.5 passing yards

Cleveland’s defense is awesome. The Browns are first in yards per game, yards per play, fourth in rush defense and first in pass defense. While that's no fluke, I don’t think that matters to an offense with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk.

Kyle Shanahan is going to find ways to put his elite skill players into great positions and Brock Purdy will have no problem getting them the ball. Purdy is averaging 254.2 passing yards a game, so I feel great about him clearing 204.

Brandon Aiyuk over 46.5 receiving yards

Deebo Samuel is the bigger name, but Aiyuk is the No. 1 receiver on this team. He leads the 49ers with 378 yards despite only playing four games and has caught 21 of his 27 targets for an average of 18.0 yards per reception. He’s averaging 94.5 receiving yards a game. Yes, the Cleveland defense is good, but this total is absurdly low for a guy who will easily be a 1,000 yard receiver this year.

Christian McCaffrey over 3.5 receptions

This year McCaffrey has been used as much more of a runner than a pass-catcher. Some of that has to do with the injury to Elijiah Mitchell, but even when Mitchell was healthy, McCaffrey was doing far more work on the ground. Last week he ran the ball 19 times in the blowout for just 51 yards. The Browns are even better than Dallas against the run, so Shanahan will need to scheme up ways to get his superstar the ball out of the backfield.

Not to mention that the Browns are second in pressure rate at 30.3% which is 9% higher than the Cowboys. Purdy will need a safety valve much more often with Myles Garrett breathing down his neck.
