Takeaway No. 3: Nick Bosa hasn't even gotten hot yet

Maybe it had something to do with him holding out for both training camp and the preseason, but All-Pro edge Nick Bosa seems to have started off his 2023 campaign on a bit of a slow note.

Granted, the game tape would suggest otherwise, as the reigning Defensive Player of the Year has wrecked opposing offensive lines and has caused all kinds of chaos that led to other opportunities for the 49ers defense.

But the stats don't necessarily show it.

Through four weeks, Bosa has just one sack and two tackles for a loss despite being fully healthy for the opening quarter of the season.

Now, he did admit it took a few games to get back into football shape, and that could end up cutting the right way for the Niners, who are still waiting for his All-Pro self to take over games.

Expect those soon.
