Takeaway No. 2: 49ers offense has too many mouths to feed (and that's OK)

One of the reasons why the Niners offense has been so explosive is because there is, quite literally, an embarrassment of riches at the skill positions.

San Francisco effectively has four No. 1 options in Kittle, Samuel, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey.

McCaffrey has been hot all year long, but his four-touchdown game in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals was his biggest exclamation point yet. Putting it bluntly, that was his game in which to thrive.

Week 3 belonged to Samuel, meanwhile, as he tabbed six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown. And while Aiyuk also delivered big in Week 4, the regular-season opener was his chance to shine with 129 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

There are only so many passes and hand-offs to go around, but featuring a different player each week should help keep the others fresh for a deep playoff run.

And San Francisco can afford to do that. Most teams can't.
