The NFL Playoff picture is officially set but things didn't change for the San Francisco 49ers, who already had the No. 1 seed in the NFC locked up. They will have a first round bye with a chance to rest before the divisional round.

Everyone can agree the best two teams in the NFL are the two teams who earned bye weeks in their respective conferences in the 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens and as a result, they're sitting atop the latest odds list to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

49ers odds to win Super Bowl 58

The 49ers are +230 to win the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook heading into the Wild Card Round. They've been Super Bowl favorites for the majority of the second half of the season.

At +230 odds, they have an implied probability of 30.30% of winning the Super Bowl. A $100 bet on them would win your a profit of $230 if they're able to achieve the feat.

Can the 49ers win the Super Bowl?

For 49ers fans who have a bad taste in their mouth after last year's NFC Championship, they have to be happy to be in the spot they're in heading into the playoffs. It would be hard to argue against the fact they're the best team in the NFC.

Here's where the 49ers rank in some key stats heading into the playoffs:

  • Net Yards per Play: 1st
  • Average scoring margin: 3rd
  • EPA per play: 1st
  • Offensive success rate: 1st
  • Opponent EPA per play: 10th
  • Opponent success rate: 15th
  • Average turnover margin: 5th
  • Points per game: 3rd
  • Opponent points per game: 3rd

There are a lot of promising things there, especially offensively. If there is one concern 49ers fans should have, it would be their defense, who ranks closer to the middle of the pack in advanced metrics like opponent EPA and success rate.

With that being said, no team is perfect and the 49ers are in a great spot to not only make the Super Bowl, but potentially win it.

Who will the 49ers play in the Divisional Round?

While we don't exactly know who the 49ers will play in the Divisional Round after their bye week, we can narrow down the options a little bit.

We know for certain the 49ers won't play either the Dallas Cowboys or the Detroit Lions, who are the No. 2 and No. 3 seed in the NFC Playoffs. The 49ers will play the lowest winning seed in the wild card round which can't be the Cowboys or Lions. If the Cowboys and Lions both win, the two teams will face each other in the Divisional Round. If the Cowboys lose, the Lions will host the next highest seed.

That leaves the following teams as potential opponents for the 49ers:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Green Bay Packers

With the Green Bay Packers being the No. 7 seed, they will play the 49ers if they win no matter the results of the other games.

If I were to make a prediction, I think we may see an NFC West showdown in the Divisional Round. The Packers are 7-point underdogs to the Cowboys and it would be a significant upset if they were to win.

That leaves the next lowest seed, the Los Angeles Rams, being the next possible opponent. They're 3.5-point underdogs to the Lions in Matthew Stafford's return to Detroit. With how hot the Rams have been down the final stretch, I think they can get it done.

If the Packers lose and the Rams win, the 49ers will host their NFC West rival in the Divisional Round.
