The San Francisco 49ers haven't won a Super Bowl since 1995, but they have played in two since then, losing both of them. Their latest Super Bowl loss came to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 54.

Now, the 49ers get a chance to exact some revenge, facing the Chiefs in the Super Bowl for the second time in five years.

The 49ers opened as 2.5-point favorites, but the line has moved in favor of the Chiefs and now San Francisco sits as a 1.5-point favorite. But, who cares about the point spread right now? Winning the game is all that matters.

Let's take a look at the 49ers' odds to win Super Bowl 58.

49ers Super Bowl 48 odds

The 49ers are set as slight favorites to win Super Bowl 58 at -124 odds. If you translate those odds to implied probability, the 49ers have a 55.36% chance of beating the Chiefs. That means you would have to place a $124 bet on the 49ers to win a profit of $100. If you were to bet a flat $100, you'd win a profit of $80.65.

Will the 49ers win the Super Bowl?

For the majority of the season, the 49ers were considered the best team in the NFL. The only other team you could argue was better than the 49ers was the Ravens.

If this game took place during the regular season, many people would pick the 49ers to win. But now that the Chiefs have been hot in the postseason and the 49ers have scraped by with wins in their two playoff games, people seem to be jumping on Kansas City.

Let's look at the big picture and remember how good this 49ers team is. In fact, there's no arguing they're the best offense the league has to offer. Here's where they rank in key stats.

49ers Key Stats

  • Net Yards per Play: 1st
  • EPA per Play: 1st
  • Success rate: 1st
  • Dropback EPA: 1st
  • Dropback success rate: 1st
  • Rush EPA: 1st
  • Rush success rate: 2nd
  • Average scoring margin: 2nd
  • Red zone offense: 1st
  • Third down offense: 3rd

If that list of stats doesn't convince you the 49ers have a great shot at winning this games, then I don't know what else will. There's no doubt that it's scary to play Patrick Mahomes in the big game, but I have faith this San Francisco squad can get the job done.
