Aside from two booming plays, the 49ers offense has been mostly quiet against the Seahawks in Week 14.

One of the things San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told Fox Sports' Erin Andrews prior to their Week 14 home matchup against the Seattle Seahawks was that a letdown game could be a concern after last week's booming victory over the top-seeded Philadelphia Eagles.

Aside from two plays, the Niners offense appeared to be having a bit of a letdown early over the first half.

Quarterback Brock Purdy tossed only his seventh interception of the season, and San Francisco punted on another drive.

Fortunately, the 49ers were able to bookmark those two substandard drives with touchdowns in dramatic fashion.

Christian McCaffrey's 72-yard opening run sets up 49ers' 1st TD

On the Niners' first offensive snap of the game, running back Christian McCaffrey found a hole and burst through for a 72-yard run that nearly went for a touchdown, if it weren't for the fact that the All-Pro had to be absolutely exhausted toward the end of the scamper:

That run set up second-year running back Jordan Mason for a 3-yard touchdown that put San Francisco up 7-0 mere seconds into the game.

However, the Hawks answered back with a methodical drive of their own as quarterback Drew Lock hit wide receiver DK Metcalf for a game-tying score. Seattle scoring a subsequent field goal made it 10-7 in favor of the Seahawks, too.

When in doubt, though, the 49ers merely needed to call upon the other All-Pro, wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

It took a while for the Niners to get their offense going in Philly, too, so perhaps it was far too early to panic when San Francisco was slow to start.

Purdy, who also started off rather sluggishly, saw Samuel down the left side halfway through the second quarter and managed to hit him for a 54-yard touchdown that absolutely toasted Hawks safety Jamal Adams:

After not having a lead since the 9:44 mark of the first quarter, Samuel's score put the 49ers up 14-10.

And one can only hope the touchdown also opened up the rhythm the Niners need to score at will, just as they did a week ago in Philadelphia after another slowish start.
