49ers Pro Bowl candidate No. 4: Aaron Banks

Remember back at the end of the 2021 season when fans (and us, too) were worried about offensive guard Aaron Banks being a complete bust?

Well, all of us were wrong. Massively wrong.

While Banks didn't play much at all during his rookie year, 2022 was quite the revelation. As a full-time starter, Pro Football Focus credited Banks with only one sack and two quarterback hits allowed on 526 pass-blocking snaps over the course of the year.

That's awfully impressive.

Plus, considering there aren't too many elite-level guards in the NFC this season, Banks' path to a first-time Pro Bowl nod might merely be by default only.

And he wouldn't care if that's how he received his first accolade of the kind.
