. Cornerback . Terrapins . Jakorian Bennett. 99. player. 824

On the clock: Pick No. 99: San Francisco 49ers – Jakorian Bennett, Cornerback, Maryland

Mock Draft 1.0 – Joe Tippmann, Center, Wisconsin
Mock Draft 2.0 – Blake Freeland, Offensive Tackle, BYU

The 49ers will probably make several additions to the secondary as the depth has been devastated in the wake of several defections during free agency. Jakorian Bennett is a versatile and talented prospect that could play any defensive back position.

Bennett’s exceptional NFL Combine showed he has the physical tools to stick in the NFL, and he was productive too at Maryland with five interceptions and 22 passes defended in the past two seasons.

Bennett was amazing athletically at the NFL Combine, running a 4.30 40-yard time and was in the upper tier for cornerbacks in the athletic drills. He’s a willing tackler, and he’s a very smart football player who can read plays.

Bennett does have some things to improve in the NFL however. He’s a bit stiff in the hips and can be prone to grabbing which will draw a lot of flags. He has the potential and amazing upside, but a team will need to be patient and coach him up in the NFL.
