49ers NFL Draft sleeper target No. 9: DT Jaquelin Roy, LSU

Another one of Louis Riddick’s favorite sleepers, LSU defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy isn’t going to be popping off on too many general managers’ radar screens early in the NFL Draft this year, and it’s possible he also slips into Round 5.

Getting some depth for the defensive line remains a priority the Niners even after inking former Philadephia Eagles star defensive tackle Javon Hargrave in free agency.

Landing Roy would help with that a lot, and it’s what Riddick had to say that connects the dots to San Francisco:

"His get-off explosiveness is excellent, he has heavy hands, and he has very good lateral quickness. Roy was consistently disruptive when he was allowed to play on the edge of the guard or stunt/move at the snap, rather than playing 0-technique (nose guard). The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder could play defensive end at the next level if needed. If Roy is drafted by a team with a good defensive line room and position coach, he is going to be a breakout star of this draft."

The 49ers have arguably the best position coach in the business, Kris Kocurek, and that might be the magic ingredient to make Roy an absolute steal.
