49ers bold NFL Draft prediction No. 3: John Lynch grabs a player from Stanford

It’s been a while since John Lynch has drafted a player out of his alma mater, Stanford, but let’s have fun with this bold prediction and suggest he does so in the 2023 draft.

Stanford might not be a powerhouse of prospects like the SEC schools of Georgia or Alabama, but it holds its own for sending quality players to the NFL ranks, Christian McCaffrey included. Heck, former Niners cornerback Richard Sherman can say the same, too.

This year, there are five draft-eligible prospects representing the Cardinal:

  • QB Tanner McKee
  • WR Michael Wilson
  • CB Kyu Blu Kelly
  • WR Elijah Higgins
  • S Patrick Fields

It wouldn’t be hard to talk San Francisco into any of those prospects, especially the wide receivers who’d both add something unique to the team’s depth chart.

Considering Lynch’s own connections to the school, perhaps he taps into the local talent.
