On the clock: NFL Draft Pick No. 20: Seattle Seahawks – Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

Mock Draft 1.0 – Henry To’oTo’o, Linebacker, Alabama

Don’t be surprised if the Seahawks double dip on the defensive line in Round 1. They need pass-rushing help in order to battle the Niners in the NFC West, so they can take advantage of the deep talent at EDGE here.

Myles Murphy has a fluid draft range and could go as high as the top 10 depending on what teams prioritize during the night. Murphy has all the tools to be a big-impact player in the NFL and his 6.5 sacks don’t properly indicate the talent he has as a pass-rusher.

Murphy is a physical freak with his combination of speed and power, but there has been concern that  he lacks a bit of killer instinct. We all know the impression “looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane,” and that applies to Murphy at times at Clemson. For this reason, Murphy might not be drafted as highly as some might think.

However, he is a good size at 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, and there’s no doubting his physical ability. If a team can develop a bit of aggression in him, he has all the tools to be a top pass-rusher in this league.
