Brock Purdy was shown in a picture with a 49ers fan donning an arm brace, and it’s hard not to draw a correlation to a certain hit movie.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is still recovering from offseason elbow surgery that repaired a torn UCL suffered during the Niners’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game last January.

The estimated timeline of recovery is six months, and it’s likely the second-year pro winds up missing all of San Francisco’s offseason workout programs, training camp and potentially even the preseason.

Even his regular-season availability might be in question, considering it’ll take time for him to build up his arm strength in the wake of the procedure.

Purdy, who electrified the 49ers offense after entering in relief of now-Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo following the latter’s season-ending foot injury in Week 13, turned the league on its head after being selected with the final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Yes, “Mr. Irrelevant” very much became relevant in year one.

Now, one can only hope his surgery and subsequent recovery will help pave the way to more success with the red and gold in the not-so-distant future.

Recently, Purdy posed for a picture with a fan — @40calKing on Twitter — at an undisclosed location that someone who goes out and about might recognize.

Regardless, post-surgery Purdy has an arm brace covering his elbow that is quite, umm… robotic:

Fans of the 1990s movie, Terminator 2, might recall a similar-looking arm from that certain scene when actor Arnold Schwarzenegger educated one particular lead from Skynet, the company which ended up developing the terminators, about the dangers of robots and human beings.

Maybe you’ve seen it.

It sure seems as if another Niners Twitter favorite, @EastBayChris, saw the correlation and came up with some epic editing of his own:

Yeah, that’s worth a good chuckle or two.

In the meantime, let’s all hope Purdy’s recovery is going well.

And that the fan can enjoy a quality photo that made it briefly into the news rounds.
