The 49ers are keeping long-snapper Taybor Pepper around for three more years, and he had a fun way of telling you all about it.

Usually, a long-snapper isn’t going to make it onto a list of high-profile players hitting NFL free agency.

Especially not for the San Francisco 49ers, who stand to lose a number of impact starters when the 2023 league new year begins this upcoming March.

However, in the case of veteran long-snapper Taybor Pepper, it might be worth bringing back someone who has emerged as something of a cult hero for the Niners since joining the fray back in 2020.

Pepper was going to be one of those free agents hitting the open market.

But San Francisco recognized what it had, a long-snapper who went unnoticed on the field, and that’s precisely what long-snappers need to do. Ever since the 49ers inked Pepper, he has been a mainstay of the Niners’ special teams battery.

He won’t be going anywhere anytime soon now, according to him.

Pepper is known to have quite the social media presence on Twitter, and he’s definitely worth a follow.

You’ll be entertained, seriously.

Anyway, Pepper’s latest video starts off with a suggestion that he’s leaving San Francisco for new pastures, coinciding with the start of NFL free agency, of course.

Only to have a rather, um… boisterous and somewhat not-safe-for-work spin the other direction:

Admit it, you probably chuckled a little bit.

In case anyone was wondering if Pepper was pulling a fast one here, NFL Network’s Ian Rappoport later corroborated the video and effectively made the three-year extension public domain.

The financials of the extension aren’t known yet, though.

Either way, Pepper has been a constant, and he’s certainly welcomed back into the ranks of the Faithful with open arms.
