2023 NFL Draft, Pick No. 31: Kansas City Chiefs – Darnell Wright, Offensive Tackle, Tennessee

Andrew Wylie is a free agent but he’s also the weak link of the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line. The Chiefs won’t want for much this offseason, but they could stand to upgrade at right tackle.

Darnell Wright is coming off an excellent season, not giving up a sack, as Hendon Hooker himself had a great season at quarterback to launch Tennessee back to prominence.

Wright’s play was a key factor in this.

Wright has good size at 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds and looked equally good as a run blocker. In the Senior Bowl, Wright had an excellent week in the drills showing he was NFL-ready.

Wright is probably capped at a right tackle for the NFL but the Chiefs don’t need him to protect the blindside, and he looks a perfect fit for a team that needs a ready-made right tackle to protect quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
