2023 mock NFL Draft: 49ers watch NFC get significantly stronger
2023 NFL Draft, Pick No. 22: Baltimore Ravens – Jordan Addison, Wide Receiver, USC
Rashod Bateman has proven himself to be a good wide receiver, but the Baltimore Ravens need more out of the position. There are a lot of questions about the future of quarterback Lamar Jackson, but if he’s returning for 2023, he needs some help across from Bateman.
Jordan Addison has been an incredible receiver at the collegiate level. He popped into NFL Draft considerations at Pittsburgh in 2021 with 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns before transferring to USC for 2022. While he didn’t have the eye-catching numbers of the previous year, he still had a good season with 59 receptions for 875 yards and eight touchdowns.
True, Addison isn’t a big receiver, but he’s very dynamic and able to carve out space on the field for himself with excellent speed and route running. His ability to find the end zone with his 25 combined receiving touchdowns (he also had a rushing touchdown in 2021) has also been a big consideration in making him a first-round talent.
Addison stands at 6-foot-0 and doesn’t have a lot of strength, so he could be restricted to the slot for the NFL, but he still stands as a good fit for a Baltimore team that’s crying out for some more firepower in the receiving game.
