The 49ers had a roller coaster of a 2023 season.
One could argue that San Francisco had the most talented roster in football, but couldn’t get good health from the most important position in order to win the Super Bowl. The team cycled through three starting quarterbacks in the regular season and finished the NFC title game with a quarterback who had a torn UCL.
However, oddsmakers are bullish on the 49ers heading into 2024, placing them as the NFC team with the shortest odds to win Super Bowl 58.

Despite losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC title game, oddsmakers are prepared for the Niners to breakthrough in 2024, placing them slightly ahead of Philly to win the Super Bowl just after the big game.
It’s unclear as of now who will be under center in Week 1 for the 49ers, but that is a testament to the talent around either Trey Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo, Brock Purdy or another quarterback.
The team acquired Christian McCaffrey last season at running back to add to the host of weapons in the Bay Area including George Kittle and Deebo Samuel and Nick Bosa is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year.
