49ers Stud No. 2: Tight end George Kittle

Tight end George Kittle caught everything thrown his way on Sunday. He even fielded a ball that Christian McCaffrey spiked into the ground following his 2-yard touchdown run. Which he then handed to Hall of Famer Jerry Rice and the “GOAT” graciously accepted.

The “People’s Tight End”  accounted for five receptions on the day for 95 yards.

He even contributed the highlight of the day. It was a one-handed tip resulting in a circus catch that ignited the home crowd and Twitter with excitement:

His productive day was a pleasant surprise to his teammates and fans, largely because his postseason career thus far hasn’t been much to write home about.

And, his efforts couldn’t have come at a better time with the running game not delivering as it has in recent weeks.

If the  49ers want to beat the No. 1-seeded Eagles, they are going to need another performance from Kittle just like he had on Sunday.

With any luck, he will carry his impressive showing into next week for the NFC Championship game.
