49ers stud: Quarterback Brock Purdy

No, Brock Purdy didn’t back up his outstanding performance in Week 14 against the Buccaneers with an equally impressive outing against the Hawks.

However, Purdy gutted it out through injuries and on a short week in a hostile environment with the division title on the line.

Pretty good to manage all of that, especially for a rookie.

The final pick of the 2022 NFL Draft’s line was impressive enough: 17-of-26 for 217 yards with two passing touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 117.0. Yet the most important part is Purdy didn’t make the mistakes that could have cost the 49ers the game.

Although Purdy’s double-fake touchdown pass to Kittle was awfully pretty:

It’s probably time to drop that “Mr. Irrelevant” moniker, as Purdy has established himself as a very-relevant player.

One who is doing far more than just managing games and avoiding mistakes. He’s outright helping the Niners win key football games, too.

And that’s another thing San Francisco will need for its upcoming playoff push.
