49ers dud: TE George Kittle

In Sunday’s game, tight end George Kittle was targeted just four times. He had three completions on the day for a total of only 26 yards and no scores.

What might have been even more frustrating was the fact he and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo weren’t quite on the same page for what was a golden red-zone opportunity for San Francisco in the first quarter.

It’s debatable who might be at fault, but Kittle wasn’t as big a factor in this game as he could have been.

As the 49ers have solidified their offense with the trade for Christian McCaffrey, meshing him in with wide receiver Deebo Samuel, Kittle has been an inconsistent part of the aerial assault.

The run game did not benefit from his blocking in Week 12, either.
