49ers vs. Cardinals bold prediction No. 4: Jimmy Garoppolo passes for 300 yards

Generally speaking, San Francisco prefers Jimmy Garoppolo not to have to throw more than 25 times in a game, and the general plan of action is to let a stout rushing attack take over and grind down the clock, thereby allowing Jimmy G to be an effective game manager.

For the most part, that’s how things have panned out for the 49ers offense when it has been successful this season.

Only once has Garoppolo thrown for more than 300 yards in a game this year, and that was back in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs when the Niners saw themselves falling behind in a hurry after the first half.

The context might be slightly different against Arizona, however, as it’s one thing to duel against the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes instead of going against Kyler Murray. But, with both teams’ defenses suffering because of the altitude, it wouldn’t be shocking to see some of those lofty yards-after-the-catch numbers for both sides.

Considering that’s also a big part of San Francisco’s offense, Garoppolo might hit 300 pass yards without actively trying to reach that number.
