Fresh off their bye week, the 49ers host the Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 10, and Niner Noise has your opening betting lines here.

The San Francisco 49ers have already enjoyed plenty of good fortune and luck against one Los Angeles team this season, knocking off the Rams twice and sweeping that season series within the NFC West.

But, with the Niners squaring off against the AFC West this season, it means the other LA team is on the docket, the 5-3 Los Angeles Chargers who managed to pull off what San Francisco couldn’t do back in Week 6, beat the Atlanta Falcons.

As far as caring about games versus the Falcons, who cares? The 49ers were dealing with plenty of injury problems back then, and getting healthy after the bye should help head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad stave off an upset by Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Co.

And, yes, the Niners are home favorites for this Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 10.

Let’s break down some of those betting odds and make our opening prediction for San Francisco’s return game after the week off, shall we?

49ers vs. Chargers betting odds Week 10

The oddsmakers over at FanDuel have the 49ers as a solid 6.5-point home favorite for Sunday night’s contest against the Bolts, and the Niners’ opening moneyline is -270. Los Angeles’ moneyline, meanwhile, is +220.

The opening over/under for the game is 46.5.

49ers vs. Chargers prediction Week 10

The Chargers unquestionably have the better quarterbacking talent in Herbert, with all due respect to how well San Francisco’s own signal-caller, Jimmy Garoppolo, has played this season.

Yet the 49ers still boast immensely more talent on both sides of the ball, and a Bolts defense that ranked next to worst in the NFL in points allowed prior to Week 9 and before facing Atlanta doesn’t exactly present much of a challenge to head coach Kyle Shanahan and how he’ll use All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey.

One might figure McCaffrey dazzles against a suspect Chargers defense, and while that could mean an offensive shootout is in play, the Niners’ own defense expecting to get healthier should be able to limit the damage Herbert and his own playmakers try to do.

Los Angeles doesn’t have that benefit, which heavily influences our opening prediction that calls for a 27-17 victory for San Francisco.
