NFL trade deadline: 5 dream moves 49ers would love to make

49ers NFL trade deadline dream target No. 4: WR Denzel Mims, Jets
The 49ers don’t necessarily need to reinforce their wide receiver room, at least not with their top two wideouts, Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, off to a solid start despite the Niners’ otherwise inconsistent offense.
However, the depth behind those two, while there, hasn’t exactly been exemplary.
No. 3 wide receiver Jauan Jennings hasn’t quite put together the 2021-like campaign he enjoyed a year ago, and San Francisco might be frustrated with return specialist Ray-Ray McCloud dropping a key pass in the Week 6 loss at the Atlanta Falcons.
Third-round rookie Danny Gray, despite a strong preseason, has been largely absent this season, too.
The New York Jets seem poised to give up on third-year pro wide receiver Denzel Mims, as he has yet to appear in a game this season, and they reportedly were willing to accept a fourth-round pick for the speedy pro, according to SNY’s Connor Hughes:
Maybe that price is a little lower now ahead of the NFL trade deadline. But, with Mims having played in a similar system under Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, a former 49ers assistant, there’s an easy thought that Mims could be that legitimate deep threat with far more experience than Gray.
Mims needs a change of scenery, and the Niners need a reliable downfield option.
