49ers stud: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel
The Niners’ No. 2 wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk will receive a lot of credit for essentially providing all of the team’s offense on Sunday, but one shouldn’t overlook the work All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel put in during the game.
From a purely statistical vantage point, Samuel was solid, hauling in seven catches for 79 yards while adding another 11 yards on two rushing attempts.
Yet it was his ability to break tackles that stands out as the reason we have to include him on a Week 6 stud list.
Samuel’s tendency to create yards after the catch is directly related to his being able to break tackles, and that was readily apparent against a suspect Atlanta defense.
And while San Francisco had trouble taking full advantage of Samuel’s prowess throughout the game, he at least made a notably positive impact.
