49ers offensive lineman Nick Zakelj (Round 6)

The Niners ended up with three players in Round 6 of the NFL Draft, one of them being now-Washington Commanders cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, who was waived before Week 1.

The first player San Francisco grabbed in the round, offensive lineman Nick Zakelj out of small-school Fordham, has yet to take a regular-season snap and has spent all four games on the inactive list.

This cuts both ways, as Zakelj was already viewed as a raw-but-promising prospect who needed a lot of refinement before he could be counted upon in any capacity. But, amid shortages along the offensive line, Zakelj is still being relegated to that inactive list.

His stock wasn’t too high, to begin with, so it stays even here.

49ers defensive tackle Kalia Davis (Round 6)

General manager John Lynch made yet another move in the vein of former 49ers GM Trent Baalke, grabbing a prospect coming off a collegiate injury with the hope of redshirting him his rookie year.

Central Florida’s Kalia Davis, a former linebacker who converted into a defensive tackle, suffered a torn ACL his final year in college, and the Niners subsequently placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list to begin the season.

He’ll likely stay put there, meaning his stock value stays put, too.
