Fantasy football: 49ers offense ruining top performers’ overall values

Fantasy football: Will 49ers offense end up improving soon?
The 49ers’ offensive doldrums over the first three weeks of the season may have caused many a fantasy football owner to panic, at the least seeking out reserve options to start over some of the Niners’ big-name contributors or, to the extreme, forcing some to relegate names to the waiver wire.
It might be OK to be bearish on San Francisco’s offense right now. And if there are better-producing fantasy options on the bench, currently, sitting players like Jeff Wilson, George Kittle and Brandon Aiyuk isn’t the worst option out there.
However, in light of Kyle Shanahan being forced to transition back to Jimmy Garoppolo from Trey Lance, and knowing Shanahan’s offenses have historically started off slow in most seasons, one might expect an eventual bounce-back.
Simply put, the 49ers aren’t going to finish the year with the 29th-ranked scoring offense this season.

Kittle might not be a top-three fantasy tight end any longer, but he’s certainly deserving of a spot in owners’ starting lineups. Samuel is a must-start player every week, and Aiyuk also managed to turn things on in the second half of 2021 after a slowish start, suggesting the same outcome this year.
And, if Elijah Mitchell returns healthy enough, he’ll revert back to being a quality RB2 or FLEX player with little issue, provided he can avoid further injuries.
So, if you’re frustrated with your Niners players’ fantasy output thus far, it might help to be a bit patient.
