Bold Prediction No. 5: 49ers get their second win of 2022

When I predicted the 49ers’ wins and losses early in the offseason, I never would have thought things would be where they are at this point, both in terms of the record and the state of the roster.

That said, there’s no reason the Niners can’t build off what was a dominant win over the Seahawks and go into Denver and get another victory.

They’ll ride that 100-yard rusher, four-plus sacks, two turnovers, and a strong game from Jimmy Garoppolo to improve to 2-1 with a satisfying win over Russell Wilson and the Broncos. Considering a so-so offensive output from Denver, in terms of driving up yards but not being able to find the end zone with any consistency, San Francisco’s defense should be able to set the tone.

All that’ll matter is whether or not Garoppolo and the offense can maintain consistency on the road.

Just for fun, let’s say the 49ers win 27-14.

These two teams square off on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8:20 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High.
