Bold Prediction No. 4: 49ers defense holds Broncos under 20 points, forces at least 2 turnovers

This one feels right in the 49ers’ defensive wheelhouse.

So far, they allowed 19 points —  albeit because of two missed extra points —  to the Bears and technically allowed zero points to the Seahawks in their home opener.

Even the points they allowed to the Bears were slight anomalies, as they came on short fields due to offensive turnovers and more or less against the run of play to a Chicago team that otherwise struggled to move the ball.

And given the output from the Broncos’ offense, which has produced yards but not points to great effect in their two games, it stands to reason the Niners’ defense will continue its successful start to the 2022 season.

Part of the dominant performance against the Seahawks last week was because of the 49ers’ ability to create turnovers, so on top of holding the Broncos from scoring on Sunday Night Football, there should be turnovers, too.

Just for one, let’s say an interception from cornerback Mooney Ward, his second on the season, and a fumble recovery from linebacker Fred Warner.
