Bold Prediction No. 2: 49ers rack up 4-plus sacks

San Francisco’s defensive line was expected to be the team’s strongest unit heading into 2022, much as it has been throughout the last several seasons.

And while the front line has been stout, especially against the run, allowing just 135 yards on 51 opponent carries (a measly 2.6 yards per carry), the sack numbers haven’t been spectacular, with just four so far against two teams with less-than-stellar offensive lines.

Three of those are from EDGE Nick Bosa, including two against the Seahawks, who looks primed to put up massive sack and pressure numbers as he did during his Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign in 2019.

The Broncos offensive line has given up five sacks through two games, and of course, there’s the Russell Wilson factor to include when looking at those numbers.

Bosa has been successful against Wilson in the past, so let’s bet on him and the rest of the defensive line having their first breakout game of the 2022 season and getting to Wilson at least four times.
