49ers players who did nothing vs. Packers to help their roster chances

No. 1: Ambry Thomas continues to struggle, 49ers may make him one and done
Last year, the Niners watched their rookie third-round NFL Draft pick, cornerback Ambry Thomas, show solid improvement on a week-to-week basis down the stretch of the regular season. And while Thomas looked overmatched in the playoffs, he at least put himself in the discussion to be a key member of the defensive backfield in 2022 with his otherwise strong finish.
However, Thomas struggled in training camp and was frequently giving up chunk plays on a day-to-day basis.
Friday night’s efforts versus Green Bay didn’t do him too many favors either.
True, he did record what would have been a nice pass breakup on a play where the receiver initially had a clean line for a reception, yet Thomas was flagged for illegal contact earlier on the same play, so that wiped out his efforts there.

The second-year pro was also credited with a missed tackle and gave up a reception on the other play on which he was targeted for 12 yards, which isn’t necessarily bad in itself.
But, when putting the whole picture together and including his camp struggles, it’s safe to say Thomas didn’t help his roster chances much.
If anything, he’s edging closer to being one and done with San Francisco a year after he was drafted.
