49ers fantasy football: 4 sleepers you can draft late in 2022
By Fred Smith
49ers fantasy football sleeper No. 4: QB Trey Lance
Last but not least, we have Trey Lance, who recently was proclaimed by the Niners as their starting quarterback going into the future. Excellent move in an attempt to remove as much pressure as possible from their hopeful franchise quarterback going into his sophomore year.
And with Deebo Samuel satisfied, George Kittle healthy, and Elijah Mitchell blossoming, Lance is going into the season with some serious weapons.
There are a few beneficial reasons for drafting Lance. The first is obviously due to his position, and since he is at the highly coveted quarterback position, he’s likely to be available late in fantasy drafts. That’s the beauty of it, too. He doesn’t even have to be your starting quarterback. And without a starting position, he has the potential to bring a ton of value to fantasy owners.

As a dual-threat QB, Lance can score points for fantasy owners through the ground, scrambling and by air passing. That’s a real treasure because other quarterbacks only have points to offer through the air passing the football. Dual-threat QBs possess immense value in fantasy football.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan is an offensive-minded coach with a track record to indicate that it isn’t ignorant to suggest that he will muster up a viable game plan for Lance throughout the 2022 season.
Lance will likely be there late in the fantasy draft, and throughout the season if you don’t draft him, you may be regretful as you see how significant his impact can be as a dual-threat QB in fantasy.
A perfect option.
