49ers storyline No. 4: Nick Bosa vs. Baker Mayfield in Week 5

Yes, we can’t wait for this to happen.

By now, you hopefully know the story between Baker Mayfield and Nick Bosa, stemming from their days in college against each other at Oklahoma and Ohio State, respectively. Disrespectfully, Mayfield’s flag plant on the Ohio State “O” was answered in kind, somewhat, by Bosa mocking him back when the Niners hosted Mayfield and the Browns in 2019.

All Bosa did was sack Mayfield twice and hit him five times, including that flag plant, which he described to reporters later:

Had Mayfield stayed in the AFC, Round 2 of Bosa versus Mayfield likely would have to wait. Probably a long time.

Instead, with Mayfield going to Carolina and San Francisco playing the NFC South this season, all fans have to do is wait until Week 5 when the 49ers visit the Panthers.
