5 former 49ers draft picks whose NFL career might be done

Former 49ers draft pick No. 1: Quarterback Colin Kaepernick (2011)
We probably should try to drop the political narrative that’ll ultimately follow any mention of former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who hasn’t played an NFL snap since his final 2016 season with the 49ers.
Good luck, though.
Some argued Kap was bad, highlighting the 2-14 team finish that year under one-and-done head coach Chip Kelly. Others counter Kaepernick threw 16 touchdowns against four interceptions that year with a roster comprised almost entirely of players who were out of the league a season later.

Either way, Kap hasn’t played since. You likely know the story and have drawn your conclusions as to why.
Kaepernick recently had a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders, though, and that might have been as close a shot he would have with regards to getting an NFL job again.
However, that didn’t appear to amount to anything. And the greater the distance between now and Kaepernick’s last on-field efforts grows, the lesser the chance of him joining an NFL squad.
It might just be the hard reality of the situation regardless of your own take on him.
