49ers roster: Why Nick Bosa puts in a monstrous 2022 campaign
By Peter Panacy
Expected role, impact from Nick Bosa this season
Nick Bosa is far from just a pass-rushing specialist, emerging as an every-down player his rookie year. And while San Francisco will look to keep him fresh with a regular rotation from its deep defensive line, keeping the former Ohio State Buckeye on the field as much as possible will be a notable priority.
The additions of Kemoko Turay and Drake Jackson will hopefully alleviate some of that pressure and focus off of Bosa. And while both new faces could ultimately cut into Bosa’s sack totals this season, there’s little doubt he’ll be right up there among league leaders in 2022.

With what promises to be a lucrative contract extension coming his way, potentially sooner rather than later, Bosa might be more than willing to use that factor as extra motivation to set his price tag even higher.
If that’s the case, setting a new career-high in sacks wouldn’t be out of the question.
What might transpire afterward, however, could end up resulting in what eluded him last season: an All-Pro nod, specifically one of the first-team variety.
The league has already established Bosa as a perennial Pro Bowl player. Now, it’s time for him to be counted among the best of the best.
And a true cornerstone of the 49ers defense.
