49ers schedule, Week 13 vs. Dolphins: RB Raheem Mostert, WR Trent Sherfield, HC Mike McDaniel

Ah, quite like the pending matchup with the Broncos, the 49ers schedule will feature a pretty noteworthy reunion with a number of its former personnel in Week 13 when the Miami Dolphins come to town.

A high-profile name to watch, of course, will be running back Raheem Mostert, who thrived (when healthy) under Kyle Shanahan after being inherited from the previous regime in 2017, particularly during that memorable 2019 Super Bowl run.

Mostert will surely look forward to visiting his old friends in the Bay Area on this trip, and he’ll definitely be missed, even though he saw action in only one game last year before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Likewise, the Niners will welcome back a one-year presence on their roster from 2021, wide receiver Trent Sherfield, too, who impressed during the preseason but largely fell out of the limelight once the regular season rolled around.

However, the bigger story will be Shanahan facing off against a protege, now-Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, who climbed the ranks under Shanahan and served as San Francisco’s offensive coordinator a year ago.

As far as offensive game plans go, and these two coaches engaging in a high-stakes chess match, Week 13 should be fun to watch.
