No. 1 can’t-miss game on 49ers schedule 2022: Week 7 vs. Chiefs

In a rematch of Super Bowl LIV, the 49ers will look to seek revenge for the first time since the heart-wrenching loss in a game nearly every Niners fan thinks the team should have won.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes will enter this game against San Francisco, this time without Tyreek Hill, which will make things intriguing from Kansas City’s vantage point, too.

The Chiefs offense went through plenty of changes this offseason, but a few things remain in place with head coach Andy Reid, Mahomes, and tight end Travis Kelce. With this trio still in place, it’s hard to argue them not being in the AFC conversation, especially after adding some complementary pieces like wide receivers JuJu Smith-Shuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling via free agency.

The Chiefs sit atop the AFC for now, albeit within a significantly tougher conference, and a Niners win against this team will feel like a huge weight being lifted and a new destiny awaiting the 49ers.

Not to mention a confidence boost for second-year quarterback Trey Lance, who’ll hopefully wind up following a very Mahomes-like path of his own.

Levi’s Stadium should be electric with fans, as well as San Francisco wanting to get back at the team that cost it a Super Bowl ring.
