NFL Draft 2022: Final 32-pick Round 1 mock with trades
NFL Draft Pick No. 26: Tennessee Titans – Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Utah
Jayon Brown was a good linebacker for the Tennessee Titans, although he had a bit of a down season this past year. He’s defected to the Raiders which has left a bit of a hole in the Titans’ front seven. Linebacker isn’t their biggest need, but they might find Devin Lloyd sliding down this far too good to resist.
Lloyd chose not to perform at Utah’s Pro Day, deciding to stand pat on his decent NFL Combine performance and his excellent tape while at Utah.
Lloyd did it all for the Utes as they went on to win the Pac-12 Championship. He had 111 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, seven sacks and four interceptions for Utah in a stunning season. He was one of the most impressive players in college football, and he could really go a lot sooner than No. 26 in this mock.
Lloyd could be an exceptional player in this league with his ability. Equally adept at getting to the quarterback or playing in run support, Lloyd really drew heads with his ability to penetrate blocking schemes and get into the backfield with regularity. He was a locker room leader at Utah, and that sort of mentality is something coaches love.
There are some concerns about Lloyd’s flexibility, and his combine performance was mostly described as adequate. But sometimes you need to just look at the tape and you can see Lloyd is someone who plays.
